The driver was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol for treatment after being released from the car but he sadly died at 8am yesterday morning.

The male who died in the collision has not been officially named.

In a statement posted on Facebook last night, Victoria Methodist Church revealed Revd Etheridge had died.

"It is with deep sadness that the Stewards wish to tell you of the sudden death last night of our dear Minister Rev Michael Etheridge," the statement read.

"The church will be opened for prayers and remembrance tonight, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 7.30pm.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with Helen and the children. Also with Michael's family."

Meanwhile, police are appealing for witnesses to the crash and anyone able to help is asked to contact the collision investigation unit at Avon and Somerset Police on the force number 101, quoting reference CI/30/16/3153.
