Mark Wahlberg pays tribute to 'wonderful priests'

by Hannah Tooley

The Departed and Ted actor said he was praying for all those that've taken part in the National Conference of Diocesan Vocation Directors event, which comes to an end of Friday.

It's encouraging more people to become priests.

He also shared details about his own Catholic faith, saying: "My Catholic faith is the anchor that supports everything I do in life.

"In my daily prayers I ask for guidance and strength."

Wahlberg told the camera he used to get in trouble as a teenager and had priests supporting him: "I'm blessed to have many wonderful priests in my life.

"I want my children and future generations to have good priests in their lives, just like I had."

He went on: "I was married by a priest, my children were baptised by a priest and whenever someone in my family passes away they've been buried by a priest."

For a monthly gift of $11 or more we’d also be able to send you a free copy of the brand new Premier Bible, a wonderful Anglicised version of the NLT packed with exclusive bonus content, reading plan and resources to help you get the most out of scripture.
