The father, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was said to have an "antediluvian attitude towards women" and seemed to think females were not capable of making "sensible decisions of any importance by themselves," according to Judge Damien Lochrane.
It has been reported that he wanted the teenager to live with him in order for him to instil his traditional Christian values on her.
Judge Lochrane said that the man had been "arrogant" and disregarded his daughters wishes to live with him.
The judge added that: "It is difficult to imagine how he has sustained an apparently thriving [professional practice] in 21st-century-Britain while harbouring such attitudes."
The father claimed he wanted to teach her about her paternal heritage as well as take over responsibility for her education and ensure she "goes to a good church."
Judge Lochrane commented that the teenager's parents had never been in a "proper relationship and that the father had never played a part in his daughter's care."
The daughter had never shared her father's strict Christian beliefs and had made it clear she wanted to remain in the care of her mother.
The girl had written her father a letter explaining her feelings but the father "could not even bring himself to consider it on any remotely sensitive level," according to The Daily Telegraph.
The judge ruled that the father was "quite incapable of meeting this child's needs."
The father's application was dismissed by the judge.
