Letitia Wright launches film production company inspired by moment with God

by Tola Mbakwe

Black Panther star Letitia Wright has started her own production company and named it after a Bible verse.

In an interview with Porter Magazine, Wright said she has launched Threesixteen Productions, which is named after the Bible verse John 3:16.

"It was a name that was pressed on my heart," she said.

"When I was in a dark place, God reached out to me and I kind of see my production company in that sense: there's an issue and it needs a little bit of saving."

She said she hopes to use her new company to "diversify storytelling in the film industry."

Wright also talked about fellow Black Panther star, Chadwick Boseman, who died at the age of 43 in August after a battle with cancer that was hidden from the public.

It's been reported that a sequel to the blockbuster film was in the works, but Wright but told Porter Magazine she couldn't fathom doing one at the moment.

"We're just still mourning Chad, so it's not something I even want to think about," she said.

"The thought of doing it without him is kinda strange. We're just grieving at the moment, so it's trying to find the light in the midst of it."

Wright has always been vocal about her Christian faith. In June she launched a devotional on the YouVersion Bible app.

She has joined the cast of Channel 4 series I Am.
