Kanye West designs Christian book cover

Rich Wilkerson Jr's 'Sandcastle Kings: Meeting Jesus in a Spiritually Bankrupt World' is due out in November but is hitting the headlines due to its celebrity involvement.

Speaking about the design, he told people.com: "Kanye is a really good friend.

"We chat every week about different things: clothes, design, music, architecture, Jesus. He's an amazing artist and designer, and with my first book coming out, I thought it would be fun for him to design the cover."

"I know Kanye as my friend; we talk about Jesus. And that's the whole point: God doesn't care about scandals; he cares about people. So it makes sense for Kanye to design the book cover. It makes a statement."

Rich Wilkerson Jr is an associate pastor at Trinity Church in Miami and hit the headlines earlier offiating the marriage of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.

He became friends with the rapper, known for his hit song 'Jesus Walks', after he turned up unannounced at one his church services.

Describing what the book is about, he said: "The world seems to have figured out the formula for manufacturing material success, but when it comes to finding true, lasting happiness, we are as lost as ever.

"We yearn for more, or less, or something that's just different from what we have right now. Deep down, we know there must be satisfaction for our longing. We just don't know where to find it."
