Canadian pop star Justin Bieber has told his followers how his faith in Jesus is helping him navigate his recent medical diagnosis.
"Each day has gotten better and through all of the discomfort I have found comfort in the one who designed me and knows me,” Bieber wrote on Instagram.
It comes after the 28-year-old revealed on Friday he is suffering from a rare condition called Ramsay Hunt syndrome.
The illness has resulted in the complete paralysis of the right side of his face which led to the cancellation of his upcoming tour dates.
It can also produce a painful rash inside the ear canal and outside the ear as well as vertigo and tinnitus.
Having previously asked his 240 million followers to pray for him, Bieber said he “wanted to share a bit of how I’ve been feelin”.
"I'm reminded he knows all of me. He knows the darkest parts of me that I want no one to know about, and he constantly welcomes me into His loving arms.
"This perspective has given me peace during this horrific storm that I'm facing.
"I know this storm will pass but, in the meantime, Jesus is with me," he concluded.
According to the US National Organisation for Rare Disorders, only five people per 100,000 are estimated to contract Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which makes it extremely rare.
Full recovery can occur in most cases although some people can suffer permanent hearing loss and eye damage.
