A video showing an elderly woman getting baptised at the Angel Church in London has gone viral.
Shared on Twitter by Ryan Burton King, a pastor from nearby Grace Baptist Church, the video garnered more than 50,000 views and several comments.
King said that his brother Regan Burton King, the lead pastor at the Angel Church, baptised the woman.
He said: “It has been an excellent day, but this video of my brother @ReganBlntonKing baptising a frail and elderly woman who is newly trusting in Christ, then picking her up and carrying her out of the baptismal pool, has made it. Blessed be the Lord!”
In a separate tweet, Regan King revealed more details of the new believer.
He wrote: “Susan, 77 years old, Jewish, Roman Catholic country of birth, agnostic, struggling with Parkinson's/ other issues last year, now trusting Jesus as Messiah and Lord of her life.
“As surely as the devil is a liar, he is also a loser. Jesus always wins.”
During the baptismal service, live-streamed on Facebook, Susan shared she experienced the “healing power of God” while facing severe illness.
“If God was willing to come to me to save my life and bringing me alive to this point, it is now my time to come to him,” she said.
“I was born Jewish and grew up in a country ruled by Roman Catholicism, as such my views and trust in God had led me to agnosticism. Over the past year my life has been twice saved by Jesus Messiah and I look forward to this relationship with Christ and where it will take me.”
