The beginning of the month has become one of the busiest times of the year for vicars because of a rush of couples getting engaged.
January may be the busiest month for divorce lawyers but it's also the month most couples inquire about marriage.
Apparently high numbers of couples rush to lawyers to arrange separations after Christmas rows.
But the Church of England says seventy eight thousand people logged onto its website for weddings making it the highest for any month last year.
It said this shows many people are thinking about love and commitment.
Speaking to Premier's Victoria Laurence on the News Hour, Church of England spokesman Steve Jenkins dismissed claims the month is more famous for divorce:
