Former burglar supports probation proposals

Proposals to transfer probation services to the private sector are "dangerously misguided" and threaten public safety.

Two unions, the National Association of Probation Officers and Unison, have attacked plans for lower-risk offenders to be supervised by private firms and charities. They'll be paid on the results they achieve.

But former burglar Steve Catell - who's now a Christian - tells Premier he fully supports the changes the government is planning:
