Dean of Enniskillen among recipients of King's Birthday Honours

The Dean of Enniskillen Very Rev Kenneth Hall is among those recognised in this year's King's Birthday Honours.  

Very Rev Kenneth Hall has been appointed Order of the British Empire (OBE) along with Rt Rev Monsignor Peter O'Reilly for services to reconciliation and peace building in Enniskillen and County Fermanagh.

They're among 1182 recipients from across the UK who have been honoured for their significant contribution to community and delivering positive change.

Among others with a faith connection are former Archbishops' appointments secretary Caroline Boddington who has been awarded an OBE, as well as Rev Elizabeth Carnelley who is a former director of Church Urban Fund, for her services to community cohesion.

The chair of the Anglican Consultative Council, Margaret Swinson has been honoured with an OBE for her services to the Church of England and the Anglican Communion.

Among the recipients of the MBE (Member of the British Empire) are the head teacher of St Nicholas Church of England Primary Academy in Lincolnshire, Fiona Booth for services to education and Philippa Penney, the founder of the Association of Ringing Teachers for services to church bell-ringing and to young people. Joy Madeiros who is Group Chief Executive Officer of  Oasis Charitable Trust and a founding member of Women's Faith Forum has also been recognised with an MBE for her services to education and faith relations.

Rev Alexander Brown Cairns, who's a volunteer is recognised for services to the communities of South Scotland and Rev Canon Glyn Evans also becomes MBE for his services to the community in Morpeth, Northumberland. 

 Rabbi Dr Norman Solomon, who was a fellow in modern Jewish thought at the Oxford Centre for Hebrew and Jewish Studies, has been appointed MBE for services to the Jewish community and to interfaith relations in Oxfordshire.

Among the Medallists of the Order of the British Empire (BEM) are Rev Benjamin Pratt for services to Religion, Rev Christopher Henley who is a voluntary railway chaplain and Rev Cassandra Howes for services to education and inter-faith relations in Bedfordshire.

Professor Robert Stephen Rubin who is chair of Pentland Capital Limited and Pentland Group Limited has been awarded a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) for services to inter-faith relations and charity in London.

Rev Fr Eustan Ulric Commissiong-Jones becomes a Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George (CMG) for his services to Anglicanism, Christian Fellowship and Community Work.

 The Prime Minister Keir Starmer said: "Across the UK, people are quietly changing lives and strengthening their communities. This Honours List is a chance to recognise them.

"Their dedication shows how lasting change is built - through compassion, resilience and a commitment to others.

"It speaks to the decent, hopeful country we are proud to be, and on behalf of the whole nation, I want to say thank you."
