David Cameron promises referendum on EU

David Cameron has promised a referendum on Britain's continued membership of the European Union - if the Conservatives win the next election. In a major speech in London on the subject - the Prime Minister insisted it was in the UK's interest to stay in the club - but on renegotiated terms.

Ed Miliband says Mr Cameron's putting the interests of his party ahead of the national interest by promising an in/out referendum.
