At midday on Tuesday members of the community attended a service at St Peter's Church, where prayers were said and a candle was lit to keep hopes of finding him alive.
Revd Leigh Richardson, who led the service, said: "Even the smallest light burns bright in the heart of darkness."
It is believed the 11-year-old fell into the River Towy near Tanerdy on February 17.
Despite an extensive search and rescue operation, the Queen Elizabeth High School pupil has not been found.
A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesperson said: "Supporting the family through this ordeal is our priority, and a specialist officer is keeping them fully informed.
"Specialist searches have concluded after every possibility was exhausted. But periodic patrols of the river by the marine section and from the air continue to take place."
