The moderator of the Church of Scotland has meet with the leaders of every political party in Edinburgh.
Rt Rev Dr Russell Barr held discussions with the First Minister Nicola Sturgeon about housing and homelessness, environmental issues and the refugee crisis.
He said he spoke to the leaders of the Conservative, Labour, Liberal Democrat and Green parties.
The UK government's decision to halt the scheme that was accepting 3,000 unaccompanied children was also discussed.
Discussions also touched on plans to close job centres in Glasgow.
Dr Barr said: "It has been an interesting week and my various discussions and meetings has given me a much greater understanding of how the Scottish Parliament works, and the important role of the church to inform its discussions and influence its decisions."
