Church hosts famous stringed instruments before auction

by Hannah Tooley

St George's Church was home the stringed instruments including cellos and violins on Thursday.

They were played by professional musicians before their eventual sale by Ingles & Hayday at Sotheby's next week.

A variety of Christian music was performed including 'Evangelists', played on violins, cello and viola made in Paris by Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume in 1863 which featured carved saints including Mark, Matthew, Luke and John.
