Christian street volunteers offer listening ear following London attack

by Eno Adeogun

Response Pastors specialise in trauma and went where flowers were laid to be available for anyone that needed to talk.

Mike Freeman, national co-ordinator of the Response Pastors told Premier what they hoped to achieve.

During News Hour he said: "We saw Jesus Christ came to earth and showed us how to share compassion, love and hope.

"We want to pray for the hopelessness out of people's lives."

The preachers offered the same service following the suicide bombing at Ariana Grande's concert on 22nd May.

Freeman said when officials rush about doing their jobs and the police are busy investigating, people have no one to talk to about their feelings.

He added: "We're a unique organisation in that there's nobody else on the street that has got time to just listen to people."

The team will be attending tonight's vigil where a minute's silence will be held near London Bridge in solidarity with the victims of Saturday's terror attack.
