Christian MP Sir Gerald Howarth's been speaking after David Cameron held a summit this morning - to discuss UK security in the wake of last week's events in France.
Speaking on Premier's News Hour, he said: "I don't think we can be confident at all that this sort of atrocity won't be repeated in the United Kingdom because we have the same elements in this country.
"We saw the murder of Lee Rigby last year in broad daylight. There are people in our midst who have no time for our Christian values - they despise our values and they seek to enforce their barbarity upon the rest of us."
Following this morning's meeting, Downing Street says future counter-terrorism drills will include scenarios similar to last week's attacks in Paris.
David Cameron's also called for even closer co-operation between police and the military following the raids.
The UK will also look at cracking down on illegal cross-border weapon smuggling.
However there won't be an increase in the threat level. Speaking shortly after the summit, David Cameron said: "I think the threat level is appropriate given all the intelligence.
"To push it higher, to the level of critical, means that you have to have warning of the imminence of a particular attack.
"We don't have that intelligence today so I think the threat level is set at the right level."
Meanwhile in France, thousands of security force members in France have been posted to sensitive sites as the country's Prime Minister warns there could be further terror attacks.
Five thousand officers will patrol Jewish schools after a kosher supermarket was targeted in the raids.
