Concerns have been raised over the number of abortions being carried out because of minor disabilities.
The legal limit is 24 weeks - unless there's a risk the child may be disabled when born - in which case abortion is allowed 'up to birth'. It's argued many conditions such as club foot or cleft palate are 'treatable' after birth. In 2012, almost 2-thousand-7-hundred abortions took place on the grounds of disability.
