Christian group slams Government's nuclear power plans

It's claimed building Britain's first new nuclear power station in a generation could lead to cheaper energy in the future.

Hinkley Point C in Somerset will cost around £14 billion pounds and should be up-and-running in ten years time.

The Prime Minister says as well as being important for our energy supply, the new plant will show Britain can carry out "big, important projects".

However, Jo Abbess from Green Christian Magazine told Premier's News Hour why they're against it.

Meanwhile, Ed Miliband has accused David Cameron of standing up for energy companies and not hard pressed families. The Labour leader has been reacting as npower joins two other major suppliers - SSE and British Gas - in putting up its prices.

From December the 1st, electricity will go up by 9 point 3 per cent and gas prices by 11 point 1.
