Christian football team happy despite winless streak

Amory Green Rovers, which plays in Tiverton, is at the very bottom of Division 7 in the Devon and Exeter Football League, without a single point. There are eight divisions in total. In one match, Amory Green Rovers lost 22-0.

However the club's been called the nicest club around, because it's players never abuse the referee and haven't received one yellow or red card.

The team also says whilst other winning teams may leave the field fighting, their teams always walks off happy despite the defeats.

Player-Manager Marc Hodsdon told Premier's News Hour: "Even before I came to faith I've been involved in football matches where I've actually been six-nil down, and we've even come back and drawn six-all.

"So it's very very important that you just don't give up.

"Football's a game for everyone to enjoy, and if you're playing football and you don't enjoy it, you've got to start asking questions as to why I'm not enjoying my football.

"I don't think the result has to play a part in that, I really strongly believe that.

"I can't think of a better way to form friendships, relationships, I think that's hugely what being a Christian is about. To encourage friends on, and embark on a journey together.
