Christian comedian John Crist lands Netflix special 'I Ain't Prayin for That'

The special entitled 'I Ain't Prayin for That' debuts on the streaming service on 28 November, which is Thanksgiving Day in the United States.

The 35-year-old shared the news on social media on Tuesday.

"Ladies and gentlemen, listen, very, very important. Your boy, yours truly, will be bringing his next stand-up comedy special to Netflix, everybody," Crist said enthusiastically in a video posted on Facebook and Instagram.

"The rumours are 100 per cent true, ladies and gentlemen. This Thanksgiving Day, my comedy special 'I Ain't Prayin' for That' will be available worldwide ... literally available in 20 different languages all over the world."

According to Netlfix, the special is filmed in Birmingham, Alabama and "riffs on modern faith, southern communities, clean eating and more".

His announcement garnered more than 15,000 likes on Facebook with fans celebrating with the comedian.

One person commented: "Cannot wait!!!!! It is going to be a big bag of awesomeness!!! Family, Thanksgiving dinner and your special!!! What more could we ask for?"

Crist is well-known for his viral videos including "Church Hunters", "Millennial International" and "Every parent at Disney" which have millions of views on YouTube.

His upcoming Netflix stand-up special joins other secular comedians on the platform inducing Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy and Amy Schumer.
