Official figures show the number of people out of work dropped by 43,000 to 1.81 million between February and April.
The number of those not working the UK stands at 5.5%, the lowest level since August 2008.
Meanwhile, average earnings continued to rise in April too, while fewer people were claiming unemployment-related benefits last month.
Speaking to Premier, Fi Gavaghan from Christians Against Poverty Job Clubs welcomed the development. She said: "It's fantastic news that we've seen a fall again, but this is little comfort to those who are still struggling to find a job.
"One would hope so but I think it's too early at this stage to comment on that. What I do know is the CAP Jobs Clubs are really making a difference and churches are making a difference."
Christians Against Poverty works with churches across the country to provide practical support for those looking for work.
The Job Clubs give advice on identifying strengths and skills, writing CVs and offer interview training.
One hundred and twenty nine people have found work through the Jobs Clubs in 2015 alone.
