A Catholic priest in Ireland has reportedly received a standing ovation from his congregation after telling them he was gay and they should support same sex mar
Father Martin Dolan has reportedly been a priest at the Church of St Nicholas of Myra in Francis Street in Dublin's inner city for 15 years.
Fr Dolan is believed to have said to parishioners, "I'm gay myself" during Mass on Saturday evening and again on the Sunday morning.
He also called on his congregation to support same sex marriage in the upcoming Irish referendum at the end of May.
According to Irish Sun, community youth worker Liz O'Connor said: "We are all very proud of Fr Martin. Because he has admitted that he is gay he doesn't change the person that he was before it."
Premier is awaiting a response from the Dublin Archdiocese.
