A Roman Catholic priest has been charged with two counts of fraud.
Fr John Reid, 69, was parish priest at St Cuthbert's Church in Chester-le-Street, County Durham.
He will appear before magistrates in August.
According to Durham Police, the charges relate to allegations of an abuse of a position of trust.
Fr Reid was first arrested more than two years ago following allegations church money had gone missing.
The priest withdrew from public ministry while investigations were carried out and he will appear at Peterlee Magistrates' Court on August 30th.
