CA pastor's wife released from jail without charges after accidentally killing husband

by Premier Journalist

A pastor's wife in California has been released from jail and will not face any charges after accidentally shooting her husband as he entered her home.

The incident originally occurred after Gabriella Rose Shepherd had suspected some form of intruder due to Noah, her husband, deciding to enter the house through the back door. Gabriella immediately called 911, reporting the accidental shooting. She was initially arrested by the police, but was released with no charges.

"We are not filing charges at this time," District Attorney's Office spokesperson Tanya Sierra told the press. "The investigation is ongoing, and we will review the case as we get more information."

"Our primary role here as Presbytery representatives is to care for the congregation in San Diego, of which Gabby is a member." writes the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America Pacific Coast Presbytery on Facebook. "At this time, we have no evidence to contradict her account of the tragic events on Monday evening."

"The state is continuing their investigation, but at this time, they have said there is not sufficient evidence to contradict her account and hold her. For now, she is able to grieve with her family and her church. For this, we rejoice."

Earlier that week, the church posted that "We will remember Rev. Shepherd for the hope of the gospel message he not only preached but believed. We mourn, not as those without hope, but as those eagerly awaiting eternal life."
