Bishop pledges support to Westminster abuse inquiry

The Home Secretary has just announced its creation in the House of Commons and says it can be upgraded to a full public inquiry if needed.

It'll be made up of a panel of experts.

Theresa May says they'll have access to all the government papers, reviews and reports it needs.

The Bishop of Truro, the Rt Revd Tim Thornton, is the duty bishop in the House of Lords this week. He tells Premier it's very important to get to the bottom of what happened.

The chief executive of the NSPCC will also lead a review into the Home Office investigation into allegations of historical child sex abuse.

Peter Wanless's review will also cover how police and prosecutors handled any information given to them. It's expected to report to the Home Secretary within 10 weeks.
