It is part of his series of Prayer Walks around the diocese to meet the community and explore the area.
Thursday's walk goes through Durham Deanery.
The first walk went through Gateshead West on Thursday May 14th.
Bishop Paul said: "I love Prayer Walks because they are a great way to discover an area and meet people.
"As we walk and pray together we seek to bless, and be blessed by, the people and communities that we visit. I hope that people will join me. It is fun, enjoyable and really rewarding to do.
"Last week during the first of these Prayer Walks, I was amazed at the splendour of the green spaces that we visited, I knew that the area was made up of both rural and urban areas - but the amount of green space and opportunity for people to get out and enjoy the fresh air was a very pleasant surprise."
He added: "The real delight of the first Prayer Walk was the generosity and welcome of people I met as we walked and chatted. People are so open and willing to talk about their own stories, about the community, the challenges and opportunities faced in the area and to Pray and be Prayed for.
"For me this is why doing these Prayer Walks is such a joy and is so valuable in getting to know the people and the communities of the Diocese, I am very much looking forward to the new things we will see and the people we will meet on this Prayer Walk through Durham Deanery."
Bishop Paul is taking part in two Prayer Walks each year until he has walked across all sixteen Deaneries of the Diocese, and he hopes to repeat the process once he has completed this challenge.
