The Bishop of Thetford, after 14 years, is set to retire from his position.
Rt Rev Dr Alan Winton, who is part of the Diocese of Norwich will leave at the end of April 2023.
The priest who was declared on 29th September 2009 at St Pauls Cathedral has served within Norfolk, Hertforshire and London.
Telling the BBC he said: "I am very aware of how blest I've been to serve as one of the bishops in such a lovely part of the country.
"Visiting the churches of the diocese week by week, worshipping in such beautiful buildings, meeting such caring and committed people has been a joy."
The bishop went onto to say he has been moved by people's generosity where he has seen how people have responded within their own communities, with issues such as homelessness.
The bishop of Norwich, Rt Rev Graham Usher told the BBC, he was impressed with Alan's "grace and pastoral care.".
"He has made a significant contribution to many areas of diocesan life, including the selection and training of clergy, our church schools, and parishes in his care,"
