Bishop makes YouTube call for prayer for environment
The Bishop of Salisbury has released a YouTube video to call on Christians to pray for the environment.
Rt Rev Nicholas Holtam wants believers, especially in the Church of England, to take time to pray during the Creationtide, which runs from 1 September until 4 October.
In the short film, he says: "The care of creation is a top priority for every Christian disciple in our day.
"It's clear in Scripture that God wants us to steward this beautiful Earth we've been given. We need to take care of it at a time when global warming and climate change are creating enormous pressures.
"We all know there is no planet B.
The bishop who oversees environmental affairs for the Church of England also claims climate change is a spiritual issue not just an economic or scientific issue.
The Church has released a host of resources for churches to engage with Creationtide on its website.
