Bear Grylls has called Premier a “powerhouse for good" as it celebrated 30 years of being on air on Tuesday.
In an exclusive interview with Premier Christianity, the adventurer praised Premier Christian Radio for its positive impact.
“You [Premier] do such a great job across so many different mediums, your podcast, your magazine and the radio… and hearing that you're a charity… you're a powerhouse as a sort of collective group. You're a powerhouse for good; you share light, love and all the good stuff.”
Grylls also described his mother as “Premier Christian Radio’s greatest fan”.
The TV personality spoke with the magazine about his latest book, The Greatest Story Ever Told, which he described as the most important book he’s written and his proudest piece of work.
“I've written a bunch of books over the years on many different things… expeditions, autobiography stuff, a lot of survival stuff, a lot of kids books, and a lot of kind of manual type things.
“They've had heart and soul in them… but this is different… this trumps them all, not by a small margin, by a long way.”
He said he wrote the book in a way that makes the entire story of Jesus accessible to everyone, saying that most people of faith only know certain stories from the Bible.
“I wanted to write the whole story as a sort of… thriller. But I didn't want to change a single word of Jesus’… and that's been the that's been the difference here”.
He added: “It's the proudest thing in my work world I've ever done. If I could only be remembered for one thing, this would be it, and it's the one that I have the greatest hope and ambition for, and putting the most time, love and energy into.”
Grylls hopes the book will become the third biggest selling book in the world, after the Bible and Koran.
He also opened up about his personal faith and his mixed relationship with the Church.
The full interview will be released soon to Premier Christianity subscribers.
