Former Tory MP Ann Widdecombe has become a Dame of the Order of St Gregory. The papal honour was given to her by Pope Benedict XVI for her services to politics and public life. Cardinal Cormac Murphy O'Connor has paid tribute to her work for the unborn and for the sanctity of human life.
